Officers mentioned they were notified by a individual who discovered a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored liquid

Approximately 50 vehicles have been marked with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau near Frankfurt, as reported by authorities.

Automobiles, walls and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with swastikas, they reported in a release.

Law enforcement state they were alerted late on Wednesday evening, when a man observed that a car in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The substance had been applied in the shape of a swastika, they stated.

Law enforcement then discovered numerous other marked automobiles and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.

These symbols are prohibited in Germany under laws prohibiting the visible presentation of symbols from the Nazi era.

Officials report preliminary tests show the liquid was most likely human blood.

"At present there remains no indication as to its source; officials are not yet aware of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they stated.

City officials stated they were working "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the public for information.

A high-ranking political figure commented the incident made him stunned and required to be addressed rapidly.

"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack half a decade ago," he stated on online, recalling the killing of nine victims by a assailant focusing on residents of immigrant origin in five years prior.
